Taking Corpus Christi water sport lessons are a sure way to figuring out the complexities of kitesurfing or windsurfing. I mean, it might seem pretty easy to do, right. But I am sure there is somewhat of a balancing act when it comes to these water sports. Not to mention that it takes some physical strength to perform both sports.

But, what do I know? I have not kitesurfed or windsurfed before, so I too would need to take some water sport lessons to be familiar with these extreme water sports. And they do look extreme! Kitesurfing and windsurfing are a sure blast to have on the water.

Don't fret though, if you are interested in trying either of these water sports then you may take water sport lessons in Corpus Christi. Mongani Sky Pirates Kitesurfing School, Pro Kite Surf, Zero Gravity Kiteboarding School, and Worldwinds all offer Corpus Christi water sport lessons.

Mongani offers a basic lesson package that consists of three individual lessons. The cost is $300 for a half day session. For two students the cost is $250 each. Lesson one involves an introduction to kite control, lesson two will teach the transition into the water, and lesson three will be about waterstarting.

An advanced techniques course is also offered, after you have mastered the first three lessons of course. The cost for the advanced course is $90 per hour, with a two hour minimum.

Pro Kite Surf offers beginner to advanced kitesurfing lessons. And, if you just want to totally go all out, they offer a PASA instructor certification course. Pro Kite Surf follows a guideline of steps for teaching kitesurfing to the first timer.

First, Pro Kite Surf wants you to fly a "trainer kite" and watch a video before actually beginning the more in-depth training. Both the trainer kite and the video are available for rent. The cost is $10 a day. You may also wish to buy your own. Second, when you feel comfortable with the trainer kite, you may move on to the next step, which is taking lessons with an instructor.

The lesson with the instructor will last three hours. It costs $225 per person. All of the gear and equipment is provided. Hourly sessions using their gear are available for $75 per hour. Private lessons using their gear is $85 per hour. Hourly sessions using your own gear is $60 per person.

Zero Gravity offers a variety of Corpus Christi water sport lessons in kitesurfing. All lessons include the use of gear.

The Kite Skills course is for the beginner with no previous kitesurfing experience whatsoever. The cost is $190. When you have completed this course, take the Water Skills course. The Water Skills course improves upon the Kite Skills course. The cost is also $190.

The New Rider Package is $350. This package is a combination of both the Kite Skills and the Water Skills courses. The New Rider Package is the most effective way to go from having little or no kitesurfing experience to being able to ride on your own.

If you really want to get the hang of kitesurfing though, then you will need to take Zero Gravity's two day Ultimate Kiter Clinic. You will spend three hours each day learning to kitesurf. At the same you will build confidence in your skills to ensure that you are ready to ride and pull some impressive tricks (like this guy below). The cost is $500.

OK Chad, enough about kitesurfing already. What about windsurfing? If you would rather windsurf, Worldwinds offers several options to learn how to windsurf. The introduction to the windsurfing course is a one hour lesson, two hour practice. The cost is $50. The price includes the use of equipment. This is not bad compared to the other Corpus Christi water sport lessons.

Worldwinds offers various other windsurfing courses from intermediate to advanced. These courses cost $45 each. Each course includes a one hour lesson and some practice. The price for the advanced courses, however, do not include the use of equipment.

These Corpus Christi water sport lessons are all taught by experienced professionals. If you are truly interested in learning how to kitesurf or windsurf, take a few lessons and try it out. Learning the right way by pros is always your best bet. Heck, I may even see you out there!
